ABOUT HOSPISCARE

Hospiscare is an independent Devon charity that has been providing specialist end-of-life care for over 40 years. Their doctors, nurses and support teams work across more than 1,000 square miles of Exeter and central and east Devon, supporting close to 2,200 patients and their families every year – in some of the hardest times imaginable. That care includes support at home, a specialist inpatient ward, outpatient clinics, and therapies that help people live as well as possible for as long as possible. Their care is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

None of it is free to provide. Around 20% of Hospiscare’s funding comes from the NHS. The remaining £10 million they need each year comes from donations, fundraising events, and the generosity of local communities. Without that, they cannot keep going.

While we’re walking 170km through the Alps, we would like to contribute towards the £10 million that Hospiscare need. If you can donate – anything at all – it goes directly to Hospiscare and directly to that work. A few pounds, a few tens of pounds, whatever feels right.
